4 Health & Beauty things.. I’m currently loving..
Along with my love for music, I have always been passionate about health and beauty.
My mom engrained it in me as a young kid that we do some sort of movement daily; she was and still is big into exercise, I remember sitting on the sidelines of the gym, watching her workout and/or riding my bike along side of her at the track during her running days. This early “training” has led me to run 2 marathons; one full marathon; 26.2 miles and one half marathon; 16.1 miles .. Also I have memories of looking at Cosmopolitan, ELLE, VOGUE magazines just being in awe of the beautiful pictures, the makeup and glam,. .. So with that said, Im always excited to try new beauty products or anything health related, as a matter of fact I find myself trying different ways of eating, working out, new make up and skincare… etc. With one caveat; keeping it as Natural and Organic as possible! ( We shall see how long that lasts.. lol) but for now.. EL NATURAL IT IS!!
Here are some health and beauty things I’m currently loving!
Rosemary Water for hair growth-I was taking hair supplements for a while but too many “supplements” or “pills” eventually cause inflammation in the gut, so its good to mix it up or give your body a nice break. The Rosemary water is easy to make and simple to use, just spray on wet hair after you wash and before you blowdry.
RECIPE: Buy fresh rosemary ( about 8 to 10 stems) boil in water for about 15 min. Let simmer, cool and store in a glass spray bottle or bottle of your choice. Refrigerate and use within 1 to 2 weeks.
Food Combining- this was a topic on my podcast titled “Food Combining + Unhealthy Relationships” replay on Spotify and YouTube. Food combining has been around for a long time, essentially it helps to alkalize the body vs. creating an acidic internal environment.. we want to be alkalized, because this helps with digestion and less build up of toxins in the body. ( feel free to google.. there is so much information on this topic) but here are the 4 rules to food combining:
Eat protein with veggies ex. Salmon with Veggies - no bake potato or rice
Eat Starches with veggies ( no protein) ex. Veggies with bake potato or rice - no chicken or fish
Eat fruit alone, on an empty stomach and wait at least 20 to 30 minutes before eating anything else.
No Dairy
TRACY ANDERSON workouts~ I love the fluidity of her moves alongside the knowledge that she offers; it feels aligned with being in my feminine energy while adding strength training to my workout routine. I still love yoga and pilates but always remaining open to new pathways to wellness.
Castor Oil in place of moisturizer. I find that this leaves my face glowing and dewy soft in the morning; again tons of benefits you can google.. I use on my face and body at night only.
At the end of the day; for me its about creating balance, harmony and truth~ #loveyourbodyloveyourlife
